Quartet Back in Full Training
Wednesday, 13th Jan 2021 19:51

Town have confirmed that Teddy Bishop, Gwion Edwards, Jon Nolan and Freddie Sears are all back in training.

Bishop (ankle), Edwards and Sears (both hamstring) have been unavailable since November, while Nolan (calf) limped off in December’s 2-0 League One defeat to Portsmouth.

Edwards, Bishop and Nolan returned to full training this week, Sears having joined in with the squad earlier in the months.

Despite their time out, Edwards and Nolan remain the club’s joint-top scorers on five goals, while Bishop has netted four times and Sears three.

All four could be in contention for a place in the squad when the Blues travel to bottom club Burton on Saturday with Flynn Downes and James Norwood having returned as half-time subs in Saturday’s 3-2 home defeat to Swindon.

On Friday, assistant manager Stuart Taylor said Kane Vincent-Young (achilles) and Keanan Bennetts (groin) were due to join in with the rest of the squad on Monday, however, there is no word on whether the duo have stepped up their returns to training.

If they take as long as KVY to then progress to playing they are still 2 months away

Lol I totally misread the thread title as ..”Quarter back in training”...thought we were going for a different approach to the next game . I wish ....

Makes little difference with the charlatan we have in charge, could have Liverpools squad and we'd be sh*t.

How about KVY

Lambert will always be one step ahead in terms of excuses. But unfortunately he'll always be two steps behind in terms of tactics. Makes no difference which players are available or not.

Skuse, Wilson and Hawkins to return as well. Lambo will have no excuses with a full squad. Top two finish in the league or he should walk

Nolan has let himself down since he's been with us. Has more about him than one decent game in 10

Still no KVY. That's 2 fold a problem. Firstly he's potentially our best player and secondly it means the useless tw&t Chambers will still be playing hence we will continue to lose games.

Hopefully they will show a bit more enthusiasm and heart than we have seen from the rest of the squad.

Good. I'm convinced that a midfieldattacking six containing Bish, Downes, Dozzell, Edwards, Norwood, and Lankester would be promoted. The problem is, we have Lambert in charge and he'll refuse to select them.

Three weeks ago Lambert said KVY was flying in training what's gone wrong. I fear there might be more bad news on the horizon like a minor operation is required. Injuries at our club take ten times longer to heal than any where else. Which begs the question are the players motivated to play for the club.

Lamber/evans aside

Having those plus downes and Norwood back is like having a new team

Downes Dozzell bishop
Jackson Norwood Edwards

Nolan needs to be eased a bit more as it showed him being rushed back

Don't be silly. PL would never drop our fantastic Captain - would you? I'm convinced Evans and Lambert only pick him so we are almost guaranteed to lose the game. That seems to be their game plan. Keep picking Chambers and see how low he can take us.

I wish too Arnie. An NFL quarter back would do much better at right back than our current no. 4.

We can have all the attacking players we want fit, but as some have alluded to, if you can't defend then you are going to struggle. KVY (if ever fit again) is not the answer either as he was clearly better going forward than defending and teams have found us out at Full Back, we can't stop balls coming in or letting in players behind. If Chambers and Ward are the best we have then they need protection and (e.g.) Gwion is good at that.....Judge and others have not been. If they are that exposed then maybe Donacien and Kenlock are better options with more legs.

Still, it is good to have players back, just cannot see it making that much difference sadly

This KVY injury situation is perplexing- is there more to this than an achilles injury ? the reports out of the club are misleading -
Maybe we will have to wait until the last year of his contract to see him again like Teddy Bishop

is Skuse on strike ?

stiff_talking added 04:49 - Jan 14
Skuse has 2nd job of coaching at a school

If we can keep players on books but remove them squad (freeing up salary cap monies) why hasn't Skuse been moved aside ?

Will make no difference with the worst manager in the football league in charge....and as for kvy??? Doubt he will play again this season.

Bishop, injured? No way.....

Which one will be the first injured again then? Bunch of lightweights. None of them are any better than pub team players. Most overated group of players ever. As for KVY, does he exist? Or is he a figment of our imaginations?
